Bologna (Independent Travel)

So, exactly four days ago, our chaperones gave us train tickets and directions to the hotel where we had reservations and set us off on a train throught the Italian country side... We arrived in bologna and successfully navigated our way to the hotel....

Bologna is way more quiet than Rome and it's a nice little city... Apparently it's the 4th largest city in Italy... but I wouldn't have been able to tell just by stepping off the train....

We had four days of nothing planned so we just wandered and saw some of the sites.... got some much needed rest and actually got a chance to read a book... for fun!!! Go figure...

Here are the pics of our adventures...

Extremely difficult to get a non blurry pic in a moving train...

Fountain of Neptune in the Piazza di Maggiore
Cathedral in the Piazza.... this one was huge inside.... and of course NO FOTO!!!! so i couldn't show you what the inside looked like but it was beautiful...

Church between the two old towers of Bologna

Random church we walked by...
Two old defense towers in the town center..... the one on the right is huge...

We had Italian Chinese food right down the street from our hotel.... interesting experience all around if I can say that...

Art Graffitii

sign outside of a church.... just goes to show.... Modest is Hottest... just saying...

This church was closed so we couldn't go in... but it looked nice from outside...

We went to the Jewish museum in the old Ghetto of the city and learned about the history of the Jews from the bible to now....

This is a window that over looks one of  the canals in bologna....
Oh Denise.... what are we going to do with you?? haha look at rachals face lol...

Ok so we found out you can climb the old tower... 498 stairs all the way to the top... did we do it???? YES!

My head actually fit in the grid.... maybe the squares should be a little smaller...
Climbing it was so much fun! took a little while but the view from the top was totally worth it..... score on the unique experiences check list...

Today we catch a train to Padua to finish out the trip.... four more days....
